Michael Belfonti to Speak at the Metropolitan Symposium on Income Property
HAMDEN, CT - Michael Belfonti, President and CEO of Belfonti Associates, LLC, will be featured on a premier panel of developers at this year's "Metropolitan Symposium on Income Property" to be held on October 14, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will be held at New York University's Rosenthal Pavilion in the Kimmel Center at 60 Washington Square South in New York City.
The Symposium, presented by the Mortgage Bankers Association of New York, Inc. and co-sponsored by the MBA of New York Scholarship Foundation, Inc. and New York University's Real Estate Institute, includes both a developers' forum and a lenders' panel.
Belfonti will take part in the developers' forum, in which panel members will discuss current trends in real estate development and redevelopment as well as strategies for the conversion of residential properties (condos and co-ops) and the combination of hotel, retail, office, and residential properties in today's high-cost environment.
The lenders' panel will include a discussion of private and public capital for equity, mezzanine, construction, and permanent financing in the New York Metro Area.
Belfonti will bring an entrepreneurial perspective to the developers' panel, having used his intuitive knowledge of the industry and his formal education in real estate to successfully purchase and develop over half a billion dollars' worth of transactions since the founding of his company.
His group has consistently maintained an investment strategy focused on locating and acquiring economically sound, high-yield investment and development properties. Specializing in turn-around situations, the group has owned and managed more than 10 million square feet of real estate in 14 states and internationally.
Belfonti Associates, LLC is the Executive Level Sponsor of this year's Symposium. Belfonti said, "I chose to sponsor this event not only in support of MBA, but also because I believe so strongly in giving to charitable causes that promote education. I received my MS in Real Estate from New York University's Real Estate Institute and am happy to be able to give back to this and other fine schools."
Proceeds from the conference will benefit the MBA of New York Scholarship Foundation, Inc., which provides scholarships and grants on a need-basis to students in real estate related programs at New York University, Columbia, Pace, Baruch, The New School, Cooper Union, The Mechanics Institute, and Long Island University.
